Meet Dialga-GX and Palkia-GX, and encounter bizarre Ultra Beasts and wild new forms of Alola’s Legendary Pokémon. Explore a new dimension in the Pokémon TCG: Sun & Moon—Ultra Prism expansion!

Ultra Prism Pokémon Set is the fifth main expansion of the Sun & Moon Series, released in Japan on December 8, 2017 as the dual Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon expansions, and in English on February 2, 2018. Drawing inspiration from the adventures of Pokémon Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon, this set brings Generation VII favorites and powerful Pokémon‑GX back into play alongside the Prism Pokémon Necrozma—debuting both its Dusk Mane and Dawn Wings forms. As trainers explore the otherworldly districts of Ultra Space—an alternate Sinnoh region warped by Ultra Beasts—Ultra Prism delivers a cosmic blend of styles, fusing Alola’s tropical vibes with interdimensional mystery.

At the heart of Ultra Prism Pokémon Set is the introduction of Prism Star cards: ultra‑powerful Basic Pokémon, Trainer, and Energy cards that each player may include only one of per deck. These cards are instantly recognizable by their black borders and subtle rainbow tinge framing the artwork window, with a dedicated Prism Star symbol and rule box beneath the illustration. To balance their might, any Prism Star card sent to the discard pile is banished to the Lost Zone—reintroducing this strategic zone and adding a new layer of resource management. Fossil Pokémon also made a nostalgic return to their original mechanic, evolving from a shared Trainer card that itself counts as a Basic Pokémon, nodding to the earliest days of the TCG.

Beyond its game‑defining mechanics, Ultra Prism is packed with delightful details that collectors will love. Booster packs contain 12 cards—including a guaranteed Basic Energy—so every pack crack powers up your deck immediately. Look for the first-ever Prism Star Energy cards, whose rainbow sheen and versatile effects paved the way for later energy designs. The dual Japanese titles echo the game pairs, while the English logo’s dazzling prism effect hints at the set’s focus on light refraction and cosmic power. Whether you’re chasing the elusive rainbow‑foil Dusk Mane Necrozma‑GX, experimenting with Lost Zone strategies, or simply admiring the prism‑tinted art, Ultra Prism Pokémon Set shines as a luminescent highlight of the Sun & Moon Era.
