Reveal A Shining Destiny!

Shiny Pokémon are so extraordinary that they’re almost never seen, and Trainers who catch them are considered quite lucky—and yet they can be yours in the Pokémon TCG: Shining Fates expansion! More than 100 Shiny Pokémon appear on beautiful etched cards—alongside more than 30 Pokémon V and Pokémon VMAX, including the spectacular Shiny Charizard in its Gigantamax form! Seize your destiny and expand your collection with the Shining Fates expansion!

The Shining Fates Pokémon Set charges into the Sword & Shield Series as a dazzling special expansion, first released on February 19, 2021. Unlike standard booster boxes, Shining Fates packs can only be found inside themed products—Elite Trainer Boxes, pin collections, and V Battle Decks—bringing together cards from Japan’s High Class Pack Shiny Star V, the Venusaur & Blastoise VMAX Starter Sets, and the VMAX Special Set. Each booster contains 10 cards, including one guaranteed Pokémon V or Pokémon VMAX, plus an Energy and a code card for the Pokémon TCG Online. Central to the expansion is the Shiny Vault subset: 122 mirror‑foil secret cards that replace the usual reverse‑holo in select packs, giving every pull a chance at a gleaming surprise.

Within the Shining Fates Pokémon Set, fan‑favorite Pokémon V and VMAX shine brighter than ever. The Shiny Vault reprints legendary creatures like Charizard V and Mewtwo VMAX in brand‑new artwork, each embossed with a special holofoil treatment and marked with “SV” collection numbers. Shiny Pokémon V appear in an SSR rarity, while regular Shiny cards adopt the new S rarity—making them some of the rarest secret pulls in any Sword & Shield expansion. Meanwhile, Full Art Trainer cards and stunning VMAX evolutions ensure that both collectors and competitive players find deck‑building gold amid the Vault’s glittering depths.

Collectors have plenty of lore to chase behind the Shining Fates Pokémon Set. At its Japanese debut, Shiny Star V boasted 330 cards (140 of them secret), making it the largest set of its time—a record later surpassed but still fondly remembered by enthusiasts. Early tins yielded rare miscut holo swirls that cut into the border, instantly becoming sought‑after error pieces. Secret Rares like rainbow‑foil Eternatus VMAX and the first-ever Shiny Toxtricity V caused social‑media frenzies, with box‑opening videos racking up millions of views. And subtle nods—like the set symbol’s constellation of stars—remind fans that in the world of Shining Fates, sometimes the rarest shines come from the most unexpected pulls.
