Dynamic Power on the Horizon!

Feel the power of the shifting winds, and brace for an epic storm as mighty Dragon-type Pokémon make their triumphant return! Rayquaza VMAX leads the surge from on high, and Duraludon VMAX towers above the land in its Gigantamax form, joined by Dragonite V, Noivern V, and more. As the clouds part, Eevee’s Evolutions appear in a full rainbow of Pokémon V and Pokémon VMAX to signal a bright new day in Pokémon TCG: Sword & Shield—Evolving Skies!

The Evolving Skies Pokémon Set soars into the Sword & Shield Series as its seventh main expansion, uniting Japan’s dual Skyscraping Perfection and Blue Sky Stream blocks—released July 9, 2021—with the English expansion that landed on August 27, 2021. Built around Generation VIII’s most awe‑inspiring Dragon‑type legends, this set also draws from the Eevee Heroes subset and rounds out leftover cards from Peerless Fighters, Silver Lance, and Jet‑Black Spirit. With over 200 cards in the English release (and two distinct five‑card Japanese boosters), Evolving Skies offers trainers a sky‑high blend of nostalgia and fresh strategies.

At its core, the Evolving Skies Pokémon Set spotlights the formidable Duraludon VMAX—including its Gigantamax form—and the legendary Rayquaza VMAX, both packing colossal HP and stunning attacks that demand two different Energy types. Dragon‑type Pokémon here boast no Weakness (thanks to the retirement of Fairy), feature claw‑mark aesthetics on the card face, and carry a golden‑tinged graphic beside the Weakness box. Meanwhile, the beloved Eeveelutions return as Pokémon V and Pokémon VMAX, with Special Full Art prints that capture each form’s elemental flair. Every English booster delivers ten cards—plus an Energy and online code—while Japanese packs of Skyscraping Perfection and Blue Sky Stream each yield five cards from their respective halves of the expansion.

Beyond its game‑changing mechanics, Evolving Skies hides plenty of collector gems. It marks the first Dragon‑type resurgence since Sun & Moon’s Cosmic Eclipse, and eagle‑eyed fans spotted the set symbol’s stylized clouds and dragon tracks—a subtle nod to Galar’s skybound legends. Secret Rare rainbow‑foil Rayquaza VMAX quickly became a must‑hunt chase card, and rare miscut prints—where Rayquaza’s holo swirl spilled into the border—surfaced as prized error pieces. Several Eeveelutions were initially issued as Black Star Promos before landing here, adding to the thrill of the hunt. Whether you’re drafting a Dragon‑type deck or completing the “SV” checklist, the Evolving Skies Pokémon Set delivers an unforgettable skyward adventure.
