Shine Bright with Pokémon from Paldea!
The spotlight glistens on Shiny Pokémon making their fated return to the Pokémon TCG! Shiny Pikachu blazes the path forward as Tinkaton, Ceruledge, Dondozo, and more than 100 other Shiny Pokémon follow. Meanwhile, Great Tusk and Iron Treads appear as Ancient and Future Pokémon ex, and Charizard, Forretress, and Espathra show off their own unique skills as Shiny Tera Pokémon ex. Shed some light and discover sparkling wonders in the Scarlet & Violet—Paldean Fates expansion!
The Paldean Fates Pokémon Set ignites the Scarlet & Violet Series as a dazzling special expansion, officially released in English on January 26, 2024 (after debuting in Japan’s Shiny Treasure ex pack on December 1, 2023). Like other high‑class subsets, Paldean Fates isn’t sold in standalone booster boxes but is tucked into themed products—Elite Trainer Boxes, pin collections, and the Premium Trainer Box ex—each containing ten cards with one guaranteed Pokémon ex. This set bridges the final chapters of the Scarlet & Violet era, pulling in leftover cards from Raging Surf, Terastal Starter Sets, Ancient Roar, and Future Flash that didn’t make it into Paradox Rift.
At its core, the Paldean Fates Pokémon Set spotlights Shiny Pokémon ex for the first time in the SV era, featuring 11 of these secret‑rare, full‑art stars alongside seven standard Pokémon ex and three Tera Pokémon ex. Collectors will also chase 12 Illustration Rare Shiny Pokémon, eight Special Illustration Rare Shiny Pokémon ex and Supporters, six Ultra Rare full‑art etched cards, and three Hyper Rare gold‑etched treasures. Energy cards sport the Brilliant Stars design (2022 copyright) in both textured holo and Reverse Glitter variants—an elegant nod to the set’s high‑class pedigree.
Beyond sheer sparkle, Paldean Fates is steeped in lore and milestones. The set was first teased during the “Pokéca All Star Battle 2023 — GET THE GOLD” event, celebrating the TCG’s 27th anniversary, where fans glimpsed exclusive promo art before any official spoilers. With 360 cards, it currently stands as the largest Japanese TCG release ever, eclipsing Shiny Star V’s 330‑card record. Rarity quirks—regular Pokémon ex labeled RR, Shiny cards as S, and Shiny Pokémon ex as SSR—mean every pull feels like unearthing a treasure, while the gold‑raised foil on Hyper Rares adds a final flourish to this fitting finale of Paldean Fates.
