Set Details
The Rebel Clash Pokémon Set arrived as the second main expansion in the Sword & Shield Series, debuting in Japan on March 6, 2020 (as Rebellion Crash) and hitting English markets on May 1, 2020. Building on Generation VIII’s new mechanics, this set deepens the Galar focus with a lineup of Pokémon V and Pokémon VMAX, spotlighting the Stage 2 evolutions of the Galar starters—Rillaboom, Cinderace, and Inteleon—in their Dynamax forms.
On the battlefield, Rebel Clash delivers strategic firepower. Rillaboom VMAX can carpet‑bomb your opponent’s bench with its G‑Max Drum Solo attack, while Cinderace VMAX’s G‑Max Fireball scorches multiple targets. Inteleon VMAX excels at sniping benched threats with its G‑Max Rapid Flow. New Trainer cards like Boss’s Orders and Weakness Guard Energy add layers of control and protection, making every deck capable of handling the high‑stakes Galarian clashes.
Collectors found plenty to chase beyond the gameplay. Early tournament shops sold out of Rillaboom VMAX packs in minutes, cementing it as a must‑have chase card. A handful of Japanese miscut Inteleon VMAX prints—where the holo swirl extended off the card edge—instantly became prized error pieces. Even the set symbol, depicting two clashing blades, subtly nods to Galar’s legendary steel swords.
