THE GOAL OF EVERY BATTLE, THE PRIDE OF EVERY TRAINER…

Battle for the excitement, for the challenge…and for the victory! In the Pokémon Trading Card Game: HS—Triumphant expansion, you’ll find what you need to put triumph within your reach. Palkia and Dialga combine as an incredible Pokémon LEGEND. Machamp, Gengar, and a half-dozen other powerful Pokémon appear for the first time as Pokémon Prime. New Trainer, Supporter, and Stadium cards—plus a new Special Energy card—give you new strategies and deck ideas. The only thing missing is a Trainer who battles to win…and that’s you!

The HS—Triumphant expansion stormed into English‑language stores on November 3, 2010, arriving just after Japan’s Clash at the Summit release on July 8, 2010. As the fourth and final core expansion of the HeartGold & SoulSilver Series (and the third and last main block of Japan’s LEGEND Era), Triumphant fuses the 102‑card Japanese Clash at the Summit checklist with the 40‑card Lost Link subset. The result is a powerhouse lineup of Generation II favorites, Pokémon Prime close‑ups, and dramatic two‑card Pokémon LEGEND pairs—all in one set.

Triumphant continues to push the mechanical envelope. Pokémon Prime like Crobat Prime and Steelix Prime bring spiked holo frames and gold‑foil names to supercharge standard decks, while Darkrai & Cresselia LEGEND (99/102) returns from the Lost Link subset with board‑wiping attacks that force opponents to rethink their strategy. Deploy both halves at once to unleash powerful effects—sacrificing two Prize cards if they fall—making every LEGEND play a calculated gamble. Meanwhile, staples like Seeker (originating from Lost Link) and the Judge Supporter from earlier HS sets keep hand management and draw power at peak efficiency.

Beneath the polished foil lie delightful collector treats:

  • Typo treasure: Psyduck and Weepinbell still read “Filp a coin,” a printing quirk that survived into every English run.

  • Theme‑deck exclusives: Verdant Frost and Royal Guard decks introduced both holo and non‑holo versions of Mamoswine and Nidoking, while Zoroark: Master of Illusions appeared only as a DVD‑exclusive promo.

  • Prerelease prize: The stamped Electivire (20/102) remains a prized memento of launch events.

  • Hidden panorama: Position the two halves of Darkrai & Cresselia LEGEND side by side and their moonlit skyline backgrounds merge into a single “Lost Link island” vista—an Easter‑egg nod to the mini‑set’s lore.

With its ultimate blend of Prime power, LEGEND spectacle, and collector‑friendly Easter eggs, the HS—Triumphant Pokémon set lives up to its name—capping the LEGEND Era in spectacular fashion.
